Arrival by public transport
Ultra (Seuzach): It is only a 4-minute walk from «Seuzach» railway station. The route is signposted. ⮕ Google Maps Link
Marathon (Seen): The start is directly at the station, at the northern end. ⮕ Google Maps Link
Arrival by private vehicle
Seuzach: There are many public parking spaces around the starting area. Please note the following information:
- As a general rule (unless otherwise marked): Blue parking spaces are free on Sundays.
- Please do NOT use the school car park! These spaces are explicitly marked as private – if you park your vehicle there, you risk a) a fine and/or b) your vehicle being towed away. This also has a negative impact on the reputation of the event.
- Option 1: «Obstgarten» car park. Please note: only the nine BLUE parking spaces here are free of charge.
- Option 2: Along «Birchstrasse» and «Reutlingerstrasse».
- Option 3: At the train station (subject to a charge). It is best to purchase a P+Rail day ticket (6.-) for this.
- Option 4: Vita-Parcours car park (free, 10-minute walk to the start)
Seen: Parking at the station is subject to a charge (Park+Rail). Instead, look out for the blue parking spaces on the roads leading to the station. However, we recommend parking near the finish line in «Seuzach» and then travelling by public transport («Seuzach» 09:22 from platform 2, change in «Winterthur», arrival in «Seen» at 09:50).
Bib distribution
Seuzach: Signposted. We will be there from 7 a.m.
Seen: At the starting line (⮕ Google Maps Link). We will be there from 9:15 a.m.
Cloakroom, shower, toilet
Seuzach: Cloakroom, shower and toilet available.
Seen: No cloakroom or showers. There is a public toilet, but you have to pay to use it. You can get a token for the toilet when you collect your bib.
Drop Bags
You can drop off drop bags at both starts, which we will transport to the desired location:
Ultra: Option for «VP 1: Sennhof» and «VP 2: Brütten».
Marathon: Option for «VP 2: Brütten» and «Finish: Seuzach»
- If you would like a drop bag at both locations, you must also hand in two drop bags (no transport BETWEEN the checkpoints).
- The drop bags must be clearly labelled with your start number, first name and destination.
- Try to keep the drop bags as small as possible. A sports bag is okay, but a suitcase is not.
- IMPORTANT: We accept no liability for the contents, so please do not pack any valuables or fragile items.
- After the event, you can collect your drop bags at the finish line in «Seuzach».
Timekeeping
We measure the time at the two refreshment stations and at the finish line. The time is recorded manually, so you do not need a timing chip or transponder. It is important that you wear your race number in a clearly visible position. You will also be asked for your race number at the refreshment stations, even though there is no time recording there. This is for safety and planning purposes.
Aid Stations
There are two VPs (food available) and three GPs (drinks only).
Opening: We expect an average pace of 05:30 at the front of the field, but can adapt the plan if there are actually faster runners.
Closing: Once the cut-off time has been reached, the stations will close and be dismantled.
Drinks: Water, isotonic drinks and cola will be available at all stations. Red Bull will also be available from VP 2 («Brütten») onwards. Coffee will also be available at the finish line. We use reusable cups.
Food: A wide range of food will be available at the VPs and at the finish line: bars, bread, chocolate, pretzel sticks, gummy bears, biscuits, bananas and mandarins. Bouillon will also be available at the finish line.
Gel: Available at both VPs and at the last GP.
Route markings
The route mostly follows the official «Rundweg Winterthur» hiking trail. Hiking trails in Switzerland are marked with yellow-orange signposts and diamonds of the same colour on trees.
At junctions, the «Rundweg Winterthur» is marked with green square stickers. Important: Unfortunately, this also applies to other special routes. So if there are several green stickers, you will need to take a moment to get your bearings.

Experience has shown that there are isolated junctions that are often overlooked due to lighting conditions, overgrowth, unfortunate placement or running speed. We have marked these locations with additional, clearly visible signs. This also applies to places where the circular route splits or the route may be unclear.

However, it is important to note that unfortunately there is NO GUARANTEE for these signs. We attach them as securely as possible and 99% of the time they stay in place. But there have been cases where some cows had fun with a sign. It is therefore important that you do not rely solely on the markings. Download the official GPX track to your mobile phone or watch!
Toilet facilities en route
Update on 3 October 2025: We have organised mobile toilet facilities for both VPs («Sennhof» and «Brütten»).
Although we are running along the city limits, there are unfortunately no public toilets along the route. It is therefore advisable to carry toiletries with you. There is a free public toilet in Wülflingen on the last section of the route. However, this requires leaving the route at km 52.1 (ultra) or 35.6 (marathon). This is a detour of about 400 metres. ⮕ Google Maps Link ⮕ Route map
Note on mobile phone reception
Between VP 1 (Sennhof) and GP 2 (Kemptthal), you will be running along the Töss river in the valley. Due to the topographical conditions, there is no mobile phone reception for around 4 km.
Early withdrawal / Cut-Off
Of course, no one will have to end the race prematurely – we know you can do it! However, it is still important to talk about it in case it does happen, contrary to expectations. It is better to be prepared and then not have it happen than the other way around. So what should you do?
- Report your withdrawal to the race organisers (+41 79 936 27 80) as soon as possible. This is important for everyone involved. Please tell us your bib and name, as well as your location. We will ask you about your health and your plans for returning back.
- Unfortunately, we cannot offer you transport back, so you are responsible for your own return journey. However, we will be happy to assist you by telephone with regard to how to proceed. (Note: exceptions are medical emergencies)
- Although we do not prescribe any mandatory equipment, we recommend that you carry the following items with you for this very reason: running backpack, emergency blanket, emergency bandages, bad weather jacket, emergency provisions and water.
The same principle applies if you do not reach a checkpoint within the cut-off time. IMPORTANT: If you reach a checkpoint AFTER the cut-off time, you will no longer have access to your drop bag.
Keep running after the cut-off?
You have reached a checkpoint after the cut-off time but would like to continue running? As with early withdrawal, you must first contact the race organisers (+41 79 936 27 80). After that, there is no reason why you cannot continue running, as long as you collect your equipment from the finish area in good time! We close the finish area around 90 minutes after the cut-off, specifically at 7:30 p.m. Closing effectively means that we lock the facility with a key. After 7:30 p.m., you will NOT be able to access the changing rooms or the toilets.
Uncollected items
We accept no liability for items left behind. Of course, we don’t just throw away found items either. Ideally, you will notice it on the same evening or the next day. In this case, please send a message to the race organisers (+41 79 936 27 80). We will still be in the Winterthur area the day after the event to clear away the course markings.
